The drawing version problem

When these travel by email - which they still do in most practices - the client ends up with a folder of PDFs and no clear way to know which is current. They might reference the wrong drawing during a review meeting. They might approve a version that has since been superseded.
A portal does not solve every version control challenge, but it does give the client one place to look. You control what is visible there. The current drawing is the one you have put in the portal. When you upload a revision, you update the portal. The client opens it and sees what is current.

Design phases
At each milestone - concept, schematic, design development - upload the relevant drawings and renderings to the portal. Mark the key deliverable for approval before proceeding to the next stage.
The client reviews the drawings at their own pace, leaves comments on specific files, and approves when ready. You do not proceed to construction documents until you have written sign-off on design development. The approval is in the portal, not in a reply to an email chain.
Specifications and documents
Project specifications, structural engineer reports, energy calculations, site analysis - everything the client needs to review lives in the same portal as the drawings. These documents stay encrypted per client - see our security setup for how.
Clients looking for a specific document do not email you asking for it. They open their portal.
Construction phase
Upload site progress photos, RFI responses relevant to the client, and updated documents as construction proceeds. The client has one place to follow the project, separate from the contractor's own communication with them.
At project completion
Deliver as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranty documents, and handover documentation through the portal. The client has permanent access - they do not need to contact you for a document years later.
