The straightforward version

Clinked is a white-label collaboration portal. Its central promise is that the portal looks like yours: your domain with an SSL certificate, your logo and colours, branded email, and a mobile app published under your own name. Around that it has tasks, a shared calendar, real-time chat, a Kanban board, file approvals with version control, watermarking, file locking, a documented REST API and a long integration list.

Droplana is a client document portal. One private, persistent portal per client for two-way document exchange, with a document checklist, per-file comments, file status tracking and in-browser PDF signing. No branding, no integrations, no API, no mobile app, no project management.

If white-labelling is a requirement, stop here and use Clinked. We do not offer it and are not going to pretend the gap is smaller than it is.

Where Clinked is clearly the answer

Your clients must see your brand. This is Clinked's whole proposition and it delivers on it: custom domain, your logo, branded email, and an app in the stores under your name. For an agency, a fund, or any firm where the portal is part of the client-facing product, that matters and we have no equivalent.

You want the workspace, not just the documents. Tasks, chat, a calendar and a Kanban board mean the client relationship can live entirely inside it. Droplana deliberately holds only documents; conversation and project work happen in your own tools.

You need integrations or an API. Clinked connects to DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat Sign, Google Workspace, Microsoft OneDrive and, through Zapier, a very large number of other tools, and it publishes a REST API. Droplana has none of this, which is a real limitation and not a stylistic choice we can argue away.

You want a mobile app. Clinked has native iOS and Android apps. Droplana is a website. It works well on a phone browser - the portal has a Take Photo button that opens the camera directly - but there is nothing to install.

You need document controls like watermarking or file locking. Clinked has them. Droplana does not.

Where Droplana is the better fit

Your clients will not create accounts. This is the sharpest difference. Clinked's guest sharing does let occasional collaborators reach files without a full account, and those links can be password-protected, so there is a genuine lighter-weight path. The portal's full experience is still account-based, though, and the guest path is the exception rather than the model.

Droplana has no client accounts at all, on any plan, ever. The client opens a link and confirms with an email magic link or a Google or Microsoft account they already have. The device is then remembered for 90 days. There is no credential to create, forget or reset, and nothing to convey through a second channel. For a client base that includes people who will not adopt software - which for accounting, legal and broking work is most of it - that removes the thing they resist.

Your team is small and your client list is not. Clinked's entry tier is priced per user, and its higher tiers are fixed monthly prices bundling large numbers of included users - a structure aimed at organisations with many internal people. If you are two or three people serving three hundred clients, that shape prices the wrong side of your business. Droplana is flat per business with unlimited clients: Solo 19 EUR, Practice 49 EUR, Studio 99 EUR per month plus tax, annual billing costing ten months.

You need EU-only, from an EU company. Clinked hosts on AWS with a choice of regions including the EU and provides an EU DPA, which satisfies a lot of requirements. But the region is a choice rather than the only option, and the vendor is a UK company. Droplana stores files, comments and metadata exclusively on Hetzner infrastructure in Germany with no other region available, and the contracting entity is Ubique d.o.o., registered in Croatia. You want less, and want it obvious. Tasks, chat, calendars and boards are useful when a team will use them and clutter when they will not. A portal your client opens once a quarter benefits from having exactly two things in it: what you sent, and what you still need from them.

On signing, specifically

The models differ in a way worth spelling out.

Clinked routes signing through DocuSign or Adobe Acrobat Sign - established providers with their own legal standing, at their own additional cost.

Droplana signs in the browser natively. The client types, draws or uploads a signature and places it on the page. The signed PDF is saved as a new item with the original preserved, carries a notation caption and a QR code, and every signature is recorded server-side with who signed, when, from what IP and with which login, plus a public verification page anyone can check including a file-hash comparison.

That is included rather than an add-on, and the public verification page is a genuine differentiator. It is also not a qualified or certificate-based electronic signature, and we do not describe it as tamper-proof. If you need a qualified signature, the integration route is the better one and that is a point for Clinked.

Who should pick which

Clinked if: your brand must be on the portal; you want the client relationship to live in one workspace; you need integrations, an API or a mobile app; or you need watermarking and file locking.

Droplana if: account creation is what your clients resist; your team is small relative to your client list; you want EU-only storage under an EU company; or you want a document layer beside the tools you already have rather than a workspace to move into.
