Droplana vs Taskip compares two scopes: running agency work in one broader platform, or keeping the tools you have and adding a client document portal next to them. If your CRM, project work and billing are already settled, trial the file exchange before moving the whole business.

What Taskip does well

Taskip describes itself as a way to run an agency in one place. Its product overview covers leads, proposals, projects, tasks, invoices, document approval and signing, and client support, so a small agency can replace several subscriptions and keep client data connected. Every plan includes a client portal and workflow automation within a monthly allowance. For an agency with no settled tools yet, or one that wants to consolidate, that is a real advantage.

What it costs

Taskip's pricing, checked September 23, 2026, lists four tiers on monthly billing: Freelancer USD12 for 1 user, Startup Team USD29 for 10 users, 250 GB and 250 MB uploads, Growing Agency USD59 for 25 users, and Agency Pro USD89 with unlimited users. Annual billing is cheaper.

For a three-person agency on monthly billing, Taskip Startup Team costs USD29 a month. Droplana Practice costs EUR49 a month plus tax for five seats, 250 GB and files up to 2 GB. The currencies, file limits and functions differ, and Taskip may replace several subscriptions, so Droplana is not necessarily the cheaper purchase. Budget for the tools you keep as well as the portal.

When a platform is more than you need

• Your tools already work. If the team is settled in a project tool, a CRM and accounting software, moving everything is a large project with its own risk.
• Clients should not learn a system. A client who opens a portal twice a month wants their files and what is still missing, not the agency's whole workspace.
• Documents are the friction. If most of your time goes into collecting brand assets and signed approvals, and resending deliverables that clients cannot find, the portal is the part to fix.

Try the complete document exchange

Illustrative trial. Keep lead records, proposals, project deadlines, invoices and support tickets in Taskip or your existing tools. In Droplana, request the approved brief and brand assets with a document checklist, receive the files and return a draft PDF. The client comments on the draft; you upload the corrected PDF as a new file and name the revision.

Then update the project task and invoice by hand in the agency system: there is no Taskip integration and no automatic status sync. Do not use document requests to collect passwords or access tokens.

If the client does nothing on an incomplete checklist for seven days, they get an email naming the missing items; after fourteen days the reminder comes to you. Checklist items can also carry optional due dates. A due-date reminder is prepared two days before and on the date and reaches the client with their next email, which can be later that day or the next day.

What Droplana does not do

• No CRM, projects, tasks, invoicing, proposals or support tickets.
• No forms. Clients send files, not form answers.
• No workflow automation beyond the fixed checklist reminders.
• No native connectors. An automation tool can connect through the MCP server and receive webhooks, but nothing syncs with Taskip on its own.
• No staff roles. Every team member can access every client.
• No white label. Your logo appears in the dashboard and every portal, but there is no custom domain or accent colour.
• Not a qualified e-signature. In-browser signing saves a new signed PDF, keeps the original and records who signed, when and from what IP, with a public verification page. It is not certificate-based or qualified.

Who should choose which

Choose Taskip if you want one system to run the agency, you are ready to move your CRM, projects and invoicing into it, and the portal is one part of what you need.

Choose Droplana if your team is happy with its current tools, the client-facing problem is documents, and you want clients to open their portal without an account. You accept manual handoffs between the portal and your agency tools. The agencies page shows the full workflow.

Questions before you choose

Is Taskip only a client portal like Droplana?

No. Taskip is an agency management platform with CRM, projects and tasks, invoicing, proposals, forms, support tickets, document approval and signing, workflow automation, and a client portal as one module. Droplana is only a client document portal, meant to sit next to the tools you already use.

Is Taskip cheaper than Droplana for a small agency?

It can be. Taskip's pricing page, checked on 23 September 2026, lists Startup Team at 29 USD a month with ten team members, 250 GB and 250 MB uploads. Droplana Practice is 49 EUR a month plus tax for five seats, 250 GB and 2 GB files. The currencies and functions differ, and Taskip may replace several subscriptions, so Droplana is not necessarily the lower-cost purchase.

Does Droplana sync files or approval markers with Taskip?

No. Droplana has no Taskip connector. Download and file documents manually, and update project tasks in the agency tool. Approved or Rejected is a file status either side can change, not an automated project or billing event.

Do clients need an account in Droplana?

No. Clients open their private portal without creating an account or password. Strict mode, the default, verifies email on a new device, and verified browsers are remembered for 90 days. Controlled allows one-time or email magic links, and Relaxed also allows permanent links. PDF signing needs an email-identified session, not a link alone.

Plans and limits

Paid plans include unlimited clients: Solo EUR19/month or EUR190/year, Practice EUR49/month or EUR490/year, Studio EUR99/month or EUR990/year, plus tax. Free covers 3 clients, 2 GB and files up to 100 MB. Each paid storage add-on costs EUR15/month or EUR150/year plus tax, adds 500 GB and raises the file limit to 5 GB.

On Free, each file expires 180 days after upload. Your clients and their access stay active, so you can keep sharing new files. Active paid plans have no plan-imposed retention limit. Expiry settings, deletion and cancellation rules still apply; a persistent portal address does not guarantee permanent file availability. Team sizes include you. No setup fees or automatic overage charges. Prices exclude applicable tax.
